It has not been a good start for Ecuadorian clubs in the group stages of the Libertadores and Sudamericana 2024.
The five representatives of our country have managed to get just 6 points out of 15 possible in the first round of the group stages. Delfín was the only team that stood up for Ecuadorian football, winning in Bolivia against Real Tomayapo.
Barcelona and IDV were unable to win in their visits to Cobresal and Liverpool, losing points to rivals who were inferior in the previous round and where it was necessary to add 3 points to have a better chance of qualifying. With the 6 points added in this initial round, Ecuador occupies the seventh position in performance, surpassed by Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Uruguay and Peru.
