Six school children drowned after a boat capsized in Sri Lanka. 17 people were rescued safely.

Colombo:

A boat left for Guinea yesterday morning from the village of Kurinjangeni in the eastern province of Trincomalee. The boat was carrying more than 20 people, including school children.

At this point the boat capsized unexpectedly as it approached the city of Guinea. Everyone in the boat drowned. Upon receiving the information, the Sri Lankan Navy immediately rushed to the scene in rescue boats. They were involved in an intensive rescue operation.

However, 6 school children drowned in the accident. 17 people were rescued safely. According to reports, a detailed inquiry has been ordered into the cause of the accident.
