60 procedures were performed in endoscopy and echo endoscopy sessions at the Hospital Isidro Ayora de Loja – Ministry of Public Health

Fulfilling the institutional mission of providing health services with quality, responsibility, promotion and prevention at the Isidro Ayora General Hospital in Loja, endoscopy and echo endoscopy medical conferences were held that benefited patients from the provinces of Loja, El Oro, Zamora Chinchipe and northern part of Peru.

The objective of these conferences is to meet the high demand for endoscopic and colonoscopic studies, in addition to training specialists and nurses from the service. A total of 60 procedures were successfully performed.

Martín Andrés Coronel Cordero, a specialist in gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy, highlighted the importance of this activity, especially for helping patients who were on the waiting list and required such studies on an emergent basis.

For the doctor, an ultrasonic endoscope allows access to the structures adjacent to the stomach and, in turn, facilitates punctures and allows biopsies to be taken, studies that allow patients to be diagnosed and treated.

For Miguel Poma Passa, 59 years old and a native of the neighboring country of Peru, the attention was warm and humane, allowing him to access the treatment that his biliary problem requires.

For her part, Maricela Tenezaca, responsible for the service, said that the objective has been met and thanked the private company Endoview for its support in providing the necessary technology to perform these procedures.
