More than 50 percent of journalists have lost their jobs since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan, shocking reports have revealed.

It is reported that almost 53 percent of journalists have lost their jobs and 50 percent of media organizations have closed due to various reasons including financial problems. Also, most of the journalists have left Afghanistan and the Taliban government has been requested to ensure the safety of the journalists. Last year alone, more than 200 cases were registered against journalists. Incidents such as arrests, threats and attacks continue. Many radio and television companies have closed down and more than 6000 journalists have lost their jobs. Moreover, it is alleged that women journalists are facing twice as much harm and danger.
