Beijing: The spread of Covid-19 continues to escalate in China. The report states that 60,000 people died due to covid in one month.
The figures from December 8, 2022 to January 12 this year have been published now. Jiao Yahui, head of the Medical Administration Bureau under the National Health Mission, said that 59,938 covid-related deaths were reported in China in one month. Of these, 5,503 deaths were due to respiratory disease caused by the virus. 54,435 people died due to covid followed by various serious health problems including heart diseases.
The average age of those who died was 80, and 90 percent of those who went into critical condition were 65 years or older, the report said.
