Discovering best practices of companies that have shown outstanding performance in ESG evaluation and disclosure
Korea Productivity Association Consulting (KMAC, CEO Han Soo-hee) announced on the 21st that it has selected 64 companies as candidates for the ‘Sustainability Report of the Year’ category of the 2024 Korea Management Awards and has begun accepting applications for review.
Since its establishment in 1988, the Korea Management Awards has been discovering and disseminating excellent companies and suggesting desirable directions for corporate management for the past 36 years. Recently, as ESG (environment, society, and governance) has emerged as a global trend, the ‘Sustainability Report’ section has been newly established and operated.
Last year, in cooperation with Sustainalytics, a global ESG evaluation agency, we selected 10 companies, including DGB Financial Group, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Glovis, Lotte Shopping, and CJ Korea Express, as the winners of the ‘Report of the Year’ award.
This year, the accuracy of the selection of award candidates was improved by conducting a parallel review of the evaluation results of six major domestic and international ESG evaluation agencies and the ESG Review Committee. After cross-analysis of each company’s ESG evaluation results and the review committee’s deliberation on individual company issues related to ESG, 64 companies were confirmed as candidates.
The final award decision will be made through an on-site inspection by a panel of ESG experts. The final winner will receive the ‘Report of the Year’ award at the 37th Korea Management Awards Ceremony, which will be held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul on December 3.
