Summer in Asturias began with mild temperatures and many clouds. It was the heat waves generated from the end of July that increased the mortality rate in the region, although here, as usual, these stifling gusts were more merciful than in the interior and south of Spain. In fact, according to data collected by the MoMo monitoring system, 65 percent of the deaths recorded until August 1 were due to heat. The principality’s thermometer is expected to fluctuate in the coming days. From a sunny day tomorrow it will turn into a rainy Saturday and Sunday in which the minimum temperatures will drop
