Maccabi Haifa did advance to the group stage of the Champions League this season, but it turns out that the road there took and still takes quite a lot of money following the heavy fines that the Greens received from UEFA for a variety of offenses. This time (Friday) we learned about the fines due to the events of the games against Red Star Belgrade in the playoff stage of the shiny factory.
For the away game in Serbia, the Greens were fined 20,000 euros for throwing objects, while they will have to pay another 27,000 euros for lighting pyrotechnics. It doesn’t end here, for the home game against the Serbs, the Israeli champion will have to pay another 20 thousand euros just for blocking the stairs. That is, and the bottom line – 67 thousand euros just for the events in the two games against the Red Star.
As I remember, just for the events in the games against Olympiakos, the Greens already had to pay a high sum of 70 thousand euros (lighting flares in the home game as well as the away game in Greece), so in the meantime, when it just started its journey in the group stage, the total fine of the Greens is 137 thousand euros.
