This translates into the completion of 50,034 housing units in said period, of which 30,449 were destined for Social Interest Housing. (VIS) and 19,585 to Non-VIS Housing.

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) revealed a 7.4% increase in the new housing sector during the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to the previous quarter.

In contrast, during the third quarter of the same year, 46,580 units had been completed, 29,732 being VIS and 16,848 being Non-VIS. Regarding the units started, a slight decrease of 17.8% is observed, with 44,258 units started in the fourth quarter, compared to 53,836 in the previous quarter.

The DANE report also highlights that during 2023 a total of 201,490 housing units, which represented a decrease of 3.6% compared to the previous year. VIS units decreased by 1.6%, while Non-VIS units decreased by 6.9%.

However, in a four-year perspective, a growth of 24.6% is observed in 20 regions during the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2019. VIS housing recorded a notable increase of 53.0%, while units other than VIS presented a variation of -3.1%.

Regarding the accumulated annual figure for 2023, 184,414 housing units were completed, reflecting a growth of 4.1% compared to the previous year. VIS units increased by 10.4%, while Non-VIS units decreased by 4.7%.

Regarding units to be sold, the fourth quarter of 2023 closed with a total of 2,064 units available, with 192 VIS units and 1,872 Non-VIS units.
