In August 2023 the monthly inflation is 0.4% compared to the previous month, and the annual
inflation for August 2023 compared to August 2022 is 7.7%, the National Statistical Institute reported (NSI).

Inflation since the beginning of the year (August 2023 compared to December 2022) is 3.7%, and
average annual inflation for the period September 2022 – August 2023 compared to the period September
2021 – August 2022 is 13.4%.

In August 2023, compared to the previous month, the prices of transport services increased the most – by 4.6%, and the prices of clothing and shoes fell the most – by 2.3 percent.

Last month, cucumbers rose in price by 15.0%, cabbage – by 13.7%, pepper – by 4.7%, minced meat (minced meat) – by 2.9%, coffee – by 2.5%, fresh and chilled fish – by 2.4% and others.

A decrease in prices was found for watermelons and melons – by 20.0%, root vegetables (carrots and beets) – by 7.5%, potatoes – by 4.1%, ripe onions – by 3.8%, tomatoes – by 2.7% and others.

In August, in the groups of non-food goods and services, a price increase was registered for propane-butane gas for LTS – by 29.4%, diesel fuel – by 8.8%, gasoline A95N – by 6.1%, automobile gasoline A100N – by 4.8%, package services for holidays and tourist trips abroad – by 1.5%, methane for LTS – by 1.4% and others.

A decrease in prices was found for international flights – by 6.3%, other postal services (courier services) – by 4.1%, vacuum cleaners – by 3.6% and others.

In August 2023, an increase in the prices of medicinal products by 0.8% was registered.

The prices of medical and dental services increased by 0.2% each.
