The world population has increased to 800 crores. According to the UN, one child born in any part of the world today will increase the world’s population by 800 million. And by 2080, the UN has predicted that the world population will reach 1000 crores.
The population of India is 141 crore 20 lakhs. It has been continuously said that we will soon surpass the population of China of 142 crores and 60 lakhs. The human race is beyond the limits of the Earth. In this case, let’s see what the effects of the increasing population are likely to be.
1) Water is required
Isn’t water the basis for the survival of all living things? Increased population will increase water use and demand. This can lead to water scarcity over time. This water shortage is not only for human race but also for animals and birds.
2) Fuel requirement
Concerns have been raised whether there is enough fuel energy and mineral resources left on Earth to cope with a growing population. What plan does the human race have to protect the remaining natural resources after this? The question is continuously being asked by the world environmental organizations.
3) Need food
Food! As the population increases, it becomes the duty of the government to provide food to everyone, make action plans for them and import. But as the population increases, the government of every country will struggle to cope with food shortages. This will start increasing the financial burden on the government.
4) Location requirement
As the population increases, so does the demand for housing for people. In the last 10 years, most of the cropland, grazing land, lakes and ponds have gone to real estate. This alarming trend will intensify and cropland will be given away by population growth. This will reduce the yield. This will create a situation where farmers will abandon agriculture and take up waged work.
5) Employment problem
As the population increases, the number of graduates will increase significantly. Therefore providing employment also becomes the responsibility of the government. Thus, the unemployment problem that the country is currently facing will become an additional burden.
6) Global warming
Increasing population is said to be the main cause of global warming. Industries have already started depleting the ozone layer. Now the increased population will create demand for additional goods. This will create the need for additional industries. This will further damage the ozone layer, intensify global warming and increase ecological problems such as climate change and disasters.
7) Fear of infectious disease
The world is only now recovering from the terrible grip of Corona. Many countries of the world, including India, are making plans to recover from the economic collapses and downfalls caused by Corona. In this case, the effect of increasing population will increase the density of people in every city, town and street. Due to this, even small infections can spread quickly and the impact of diseases like corona will increase continuously and cause health problems.
