A magnitude 2.27 earthquake shook the South Pacific Ocean between New Zealand and Australia this morning.
The epicenter was reported below the island of New Caledonia. The US Geological Survey put the quake at 7 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was reported 407 kilometers south of the island of New Caledonia.
Details of the damage caused by the quake have not been released.
