The French publication L’Argus reveals how much the batteries of the electrified models of Dacia and Renault cost. The analysis shows that the Dacia Spring has the lowest price per kWh, while hybrids have the highest battery prices, despite their small capacity.

In the case of the Dacia Spring, the cheapest electric model sold in Europe, the aftermarket price of its 26.8 kWh battery is around 7,000 euros. The simple calculation shows that the price of one kWh for the Dacia Spring is 261 euros, which is the lowest level in the entire Renault group.

However, even this price is almost double the average purchase price, which is around €150 per kWh when factory-fitted in the new model.

With the new electric Renault 5, the price per kWh is 280 euros. As with the Megane E-Tech. The aftermarket price of Renault 5 batteries from 52 kWh swells to €14,560 or €16,800 for the Megane E-Tech for a larger capacity battery of 60 kWh. The electric model with the most expensive battery is the Renault Scenic E-Tech with a price of 25,000 euros for the version with 87 kWh battery.

As for the hybrid models of the French group, the battery prices are higher, even 10 times more expensive than the battery prices for electric models, despite the significantly lower capacity. For example, the battery in the new Duster Hybrid costs a total of 3,600 euros or 3,000 euros per kWh. In this case, we are talking about a battery with a capacity of only 1.2 kWh. The same price applies to the hybrid version of the Dacia Jogger.
