The Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, presided over the graduation ceremony of the Celaya, Irapuato, León I and León II campuses of the Military Bivalent Baccalaureate “First Light Battalion”, generation 2021-2024.
One of the most important legacies that we are leaving behind as a government is the Military Bivalent High Schools. Because we all know that education is the key that opens all the doors to development, said the Governor to the graduating cadets and their families present at the ceremony.
Today, 754 students from the Generation 2021-2024 returned: 185 from Celaya, 183 from Irapuato, 204 from the León I Campus, and 182 from León II.
As part of this ceremony, in addition to the certificates awarded to graduates, recognitions were given to the best grade point averages by specialty of each campus.
The State Governor also received recognition and a jacket with the initials BBM from the cadets.
“At the end of our Administration, we have fulfilled the goal of creating 6 Military High Schools: in Celaya, Irapuato, Acámbaro, Dolores Hidalgo and two in León. They remain as a legacy and are a source of pride for me. I am sure that you will build a better Guanajuato, a Guanajuato that continues to be the Greatness of Mexico,” said the Governor.
The 6 BBM campuses are a reality and to date 1,159 students have successfully completed their studies, in addition to the 754 who are graduating today, becoming certified in technical careers such as Cybersecurity, Civil Protection and Citizen Security.
The “Prepa Militarizada” was created on the initiative of Governor Diego Sinhue as a cross-cutting strategy of Security and Education; with the firm conviction of achieving the reconfiguration of the social fabric.
In 2019, two BBM campuses began operations, in León and Irapuato. By the end of the current Administration, the goal of creating 6 campuses had been met.
The BBM offers an innovative option for studies at the upper secondary level, through comprehensive training with a quality education, based on principles, values and discipline, which is part of the strategy for security and social peace as a commitment of the State Government.
Since the creation of the educational model, a total of 1,159 cadets have graduated (142 in 2021, 330 in 2022 and 687 in 2023).
Present at the ceremony were Jesús Oviedo Herrera, Secretary of Government; Jorge Enrique Hernández Meza, Secretary of Education of Guanajuato; Sophia Huett López, Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System in the State of Guanajuato; and the directors of Education of the municipalities of León, Celaya and Irapuato.
Also in attendance were Brigadier General Armando Gómez Mendoza, Military Attaché attached to the 15th Rural Defence Cavalry Corps; Colonel José Luis Quiñones, Commander of the 8th Military Reconnaissance Regiment, representing Brigadier General Francisco Javier González, who held a Diploma from the General Staff.
The directors of the BBM schools and delegates from the Guanajuato Education Secretariat were also present at the Presidium.
