Riyadh: Various ministry officials arrested for corruption in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi anti-corruption authority ‘Nasaha’ announced that 78 people were arrested on charges of bribery, forgery and money laundering.
Those arrested were those working in six ministries: Defence, Home Affairs, Health, Justice, Education, Municipal-Rural Affairs and Housing. Some of them were released on bail. Apart from this, investigation is going on regarding 116 people. Bribery, nepotism, abuse of power and forgery are considered administrative corruption and money laundering as economic crime, sources in ‘Nasaha’ revealed. Most serious crimes were found in the observations.

RIYADH: Inspections to detect violations of labor and residence laws in Saudi Arabia continue in force. 12,632 violators were arrested from different parts of the country within a week. The Ministry of Home Affairs officials arrested so many people during a field inspection conducted from July 21 to July 27 with the cooperation of various units of security forces and Jawas.
Of those arrested, 7,401 were found to have violated the country’s residency laws. 3,412 people were arrested for violating border rules. 1,819 people were also arrested for labor law violations. 233 people were caught trying to enter Saudi Arabia illegally. 40 percent of them are natives of Yemen. 49 percent of those arrested are Ethiopians and 11 percent are from various other countries.

35 people who tried to break the law from Saudi Arabia to other neighboring countries were also arrested. 11 people have also been arrested for arranging accommodation and travel for the violators. A total of 57,102 offenders are currently being processed for violation of regulations, of which 53,952 are males and 3,150 are females. 45,409 offenders were referred to their diplomatic offices to obtain travel documents and process their air tickets. 11,595 violators were deported.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has warned that anyone who violates border security regulations by facilitating the entry of anyone into the country or providing him with transport, accommodation or any assistance or service will face a maximum jail term of 15 years. In addition, there is a warning that they will be fined up to one million Riyals, confiscation of the place where the vehicles were sheltered and their names will be published in the local media.
