The Goa Assembly polls saw 78.94 per cent and Uttarakhand 62.5 per cent. In Uttar Pradesh, 60.44 per cent votes were cast in the second phase.
The assembly polls were held simultaneously in 40 constituencies in Goa and 70 constituencies in Uttarakhand on Monday.
Voting started at 7 am in Goa and 8 am in Uttarakhand and ended at 6 pm. The Dotal Commission has taken various precautionary measures in view of the spread of corona infection.
The Dotal Commission had arranged for a community gap to be found between the long queues of voters outside the polling booths. Gloves were handed out to voters.
Special arrangements were also made for alternatively abled voters. In order to give prominence to women, arrangements were made to have more than 100 polling booths each in Goa and Uttarakhand.
Security arrangements were strengthened at the tense polling stations. In both cases, there was the full support of the House. ” At 6 pm, Goa recorded 78.94 per cent and Uttarakhand 62.5 per cent.

The polls were held on Monday in all 55 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. The ordeal began at 7 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. Orchard officials said the orchard was quiet in most areas.

An official, Rashid Ali, who was working as a gardener in the Nago Assembly constituency, has died of a heart attack. A 70-year-old woman, who was being treated at a hospital in Saharanpur constituency due to ill health, came in an ambulance and voted.
