The search is being conducted jointly by the Japanese and South Korean navies and private boats. It is reported that there were 22 people on board. China’s Consul General Lu Guienjun responded that six of the dead were Chinese nationals. But Japan is yet to confirm the identity of the dead. There are currently no clues as to what caused the ship to sink.

Earlier, the Saudi Border Guard had rescued 25 crew members from a ship that caught fire in the Red Sea. This accident happened in the first week of October. The vessel caught fire 123 nautical miles northwest of Jizan port in Saudi Arabia. Immediately, a distress call was sent from the ship to the Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Jeddah.

They were rescued from the burning vessel by the Saudi Border Protection Force and brought to the port of Jizan in Saudi Arabia.
