Eight were injured in an accident that took place on the Sozopol – Burgas road, immediately after the “Kraimorie” road junction, in which, for unknown reasons, a Mercedes minibus, driven by a 41-year-old Burgas woman, transporting Polish and Russian tourists and a Seat car driven by a 31-year-old woman from the Sozopol village of Zidarovo.

The incident happened around 19:45. As a result of the collision, the minibus overturned, according to the police. The two road lanes in the direction of Burgas are blocked, and traffic is detoured along the Marinka – Tvarditsa – Meden rudnik route.

In the opposite direction – towards Sozopol, the movement takes place in a normal rhythm. According to initial data, the victims were in contact, but they are currently undergoing medical examinations.

According to the latest data, five of the injured tourists remain for examination at the UMBAL Burgas, the rest have gone to Burgas Airport to catch their flight.

It was established that 12 tourists, all of Polish origin, were being transported in the van. The driver of the minibus and her daughter, who was also in the bus, were not injured, explained the spokesperson of the Regional Police Directorate in Burgas, Tsvetelina Randeva.

The road is still closed as the scene continues to be investigated. According to initial data, the passenger car takes the right of way and hits the minibus with Polish tourists, which was lawfully moving in the direction of Burgas.
