Director General of the Department of Health Professor Dr. The doctors, medical technologists and nurse officials who suffered discrimination have demanded the removal of the health officials who held important duties during the previous government, including Robed Amin.
These demands were announced in a press conference organized at the meeting room of the Directorate of Health in Mahakhali of the capital on Tuesday (September 10). At this time, DAB presented 8 point recommendations to the government.
The recommendations are-
1. Dr. Robed Amin (Director General, Directorate of Health), Dr. Canceling the appointment orders of Fazle Rabbi (Director, Administration) who were appointed to important posts in the Directorate of Health and other health institutions opposing the privileged and anti-discrimination student movement of the previous government.
2. Deregistration of BMDC by compiling a list of those who refused to treat injured students (from BSMMU to all government and private institutions). To take peaceful measures by removing from their posts all doctors and officials who joined the peace rally and who are friends of fascism and take due legal process against them.
3. Eliminate discrimination by promoting all doctors and employees who are victims of discrimination very quickly. To expedite the promotion of everyone currently eligible for promotion. Only then it will be possible to organize the health administration by appointing the deprived, skilled and qualified officials, which is very important.
4. Every hospital including medical college has become an arena of corruption. To make all these institutions free from corruption, qualified and discriminated teachers and doctors should be posted in appropriate positions. Publish the white paper on the corruption in the health sector in the last 16 long years and bring the responsible people to justice.
5. Medical colleges, medical universities, institutes, nursing colleges, etc., to remove the tyrant’s friends very quickly and appoint doctors who are victims of discrimination.
6. Immediately cancel the transfer order of protesting doctors who have been harassed. No harassing transfer of discriminated doctors in future.
7. The expert panel committee formed by the Ministry of Health for thematic necessary reform of the existing health system and improvement of the quality of medical services and strengthening of the structure of the health system should be abolished very quickly and the committee should be reconstituted with the representation of the medical society expressing solidarity with the student movement.
8. Health department officials, medical technologists and servants, including those who have been denied their fair rights through harassment and forced transfers and promotions. They should be appointed to various posts with seniority immediately.
In the press conference, they complained of being deprived in various ways during the previous government’s 16 years and being harassed during the movement.
