The other day, a third grade student at the Music School named after. Bulbul, 8-year-old violinist Dilshad Farkhadzadeh won the Grand Prix of the international competition Concorso Internazionale di Violino Massimo Marin 2024 in Italy, gaining a maximum of 100 points from the jury.

At such a young age, Dilshad has already become a Grand Prix winner and laureate of about thirty national and international competitions in Azerbaijan, USA, Great Britain, France, Hungary, Russia, Canada, Ukraine, Israel, Austria, Japan, Sweden, Slovenia, the first of which she won at age five. Dilshad also performed with classical orchestras from different countries, presenting works of world and Azerbaijani classics.

As Day.Az reports, a Trend correspondent attended classes of young talent at the Music School named after. Bulbul, after talking with the child prodigy and her teacher Lala Huseynova. The teacher and student were working on their next piece. Moreover, through the music and communication, a truly very warm connection between them was clearly visible, as between kindred souls – a beloved grandmother and an adored granddaughter. This is very important for achieving success.

“I love my teacher very much, she is very kind and sincere, and a little demanding,” the little girl says, smiling.

From the age of three, Dilshad developed a special love for music, specifically the violin, and from the age of 4 she began studying with Lala Huseynova.

“The violin sounds very beautiful, and when I play it, it’s as if I’m in a fairy tale. I really like to read bedtime stories. Things happen in them that don’t happen in life. And at the same time, they teach you a lot. To achieve success I study a lot, and I really like the works I perform. You have to love music. In the future, I want to become a composer, and I have already started composing various stories,” says the young talent, who loves listening to the music of Itzhak Perlman, Hilary Khan, David Garrett, Maxim Vengerov and other famous musicians.

Naturally, the child not only has a great love for music, but also has many other interests – he watches cartoons, loves animals and rides a horse. She also enjoys reading fiction – recent books include Scarlet Sails and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Interestingly, the girl does not like dolls, but loves to collect mirrors, fans, and she even has a collection of twelve teddy bears. My favorite school subjects are knowledge of the world and foreign sciences. Note that she took part in school Olympiads in mathematics and English.

No matter how talented a child is, he can be compared to a diamond, which becomes a diamond after being cut by a jeweler. And in every success the role of the teacher is indisputable. For about 35 years, Lala Huseynova has trained hundreds of talented students. The role of the first music teacher cannot be overestimated. The first successes, the love of music and interest in classes, and the further opportunity to continue the professional path depend on it. He bears a great responsibility for the development of the little musician. A teacher must love children and be a good psychologist. An individual approach to each child is very important, the atmosphere of the lesson in which creative abilities and the desire to play music develop, and most importantly – a lot of work and love for music.

Teacher of young talent Lala Huseynova says that Dilshad learned to read notes earlier than letters – from the age of 4.

“Usually I don’t take children at such an early age, but when she first came to me, I felt in her intelligence beyond her years, excellent musical abilities. Dilshad is very talented, she perceives everything very quickly, plays complex pieces without much effort, then as many have to explain for months. For example, if in six months children learn one concerto, then Dilshad – two concertos, and many more etudes and plays. Therefore, we began to work on an accelerated program. Of course, no matter how talented a child is, hard work and organization of the educational process, otherwise talent will be lost. Daily classes last 2-3 hours, and for participation in international competitions up to 5 hours – all this requires a lot of work and love for art, and the correct selection of the work. Even children with average talent, thanks to great diligence , can achieve a lot. I had many talented children who became laureates. And every success of Dilshad is my personal happiness! “, said Lala Huseynova.
