An 8-year-old boy who was fishing with a bait in a garden well has fallen into the well and died, according to the Point Pedro Police.
The incident took place this afternoon in the Nachimar Koviladi area of Point Pedro.
Niyanthan Rithikumar (age 8), a boy from the same area, was killed in the incident.
Upon learning of the incident,
The parents have gone to work. The boy fell into a well while fishing with a bait in the well with his sister after graduating from the garden.
The sister fled the scene and told relatives. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the boy’s body was recovered when relatives went and searched the well.
Sivarasa, the coroner of the Point Pedro Base Hospital, is conducting an investigation into the incident.
Steps have been taken to hand over the body to relatives after an autopsy.
