According to the indictment of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office (SGP), a man who a year and a half ago tried to kill another during an argument was finally found guilty. His sentence is 8 years of imprisonment under an initial strict regime.
Stefan Vassilev was found guilty of intentionally trying to kill Ivan Petrov by inflicting multiple stab wounds with a knife on August 13, 2022, at around 1:30 a.m. on Hristo Stanishev Street in Sofia. to Ivan Petrov did not occur due to timely medical assistance provided in “Pirogov”.
The investigation was conducted by 2 RU – SDVR, and the indictment was filed by the SGP in the Sofia City Court (SGS) on April 3, 2023.
After an abbreviated trial, in which the defendant fully admitted the facts of the accusation, with a verdict dated May 18, 2023, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for 8 years under an initial strict regime. The verdict was confirmed by the Sofia Court of Appeal (SAC). The decision was upheld by the Supreme Court of Cassation (SC). It is final. The SGP immediately took action to enforce the imposed punishment.
