The share of ATMs and POS-terminals in Vietnam that accept the Mir payment card will double by the spring of next year and will amount to 80%, the government press service said following the 23rd meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which was chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the countries Dmitry Chernyshenko and Le Wang Thanh.

“Now about 40% of the relevant infrastructure of this country accept Mir cards, and by the spring of 2022 this figure is planned to be increased to 80%. This will make the stay of Russian tourists in Vietnam more comfortable, ”the message says.

Chernyshenko added that the trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam in 2020 increased by more than 15% to $ 5.67 billion, in seven months of 2021 – by 24% to $ 3.6 billion. According to him, the volume of imports from Vietnam exceeds exports from Russia: in 2020 the difference was 2.5 times, in 2021 – almost three times.

Now Mir cards are accepted in Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Cyprus. By the end of 2021, cards will begin to be accepted in Dubai.

The National Payment Card System (NSPK) was created in 2014 to protect card payments from sanctions against Russia. In 2015, the issue of Mir cards began. The payment system occupied 24% of the Russian market. NSPK is also the operator of the Fast Payment System. NSPK’s revenue according to RAS for 2020 increased by 37.5% to 22.23 billion rubles. Net profit in annual terms increased almost 1.5 times – up to 8.23 ​​billion rubles.
