80% of service stations that have requested the advance of the discount of 20 cents per liter of fuel which was approved by the Government last week will be charged between tomorrow and Wednesday, according to the Government.

This was stated by the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, in an interview with RNE, in which she explained that to date, around 3,500 petrol stations have applied to receive this advance to be able to carry out the direct discount that is made to all the consumers at the time of being supplied.

Montero noted that the Ministry has already executed the payment order to pay this amount to gas stations that have requested it in recent days, and recalled that the deadline to claim the advance will be open for 15 days.

The Minister, who was unable to provide a specific figure on the amount that has begun to be transferred by the State, recalled that the advance that each gas station will receive has been calculated based on the average consumption that it recorded during the previous year.

The gas station sector estimates that on average this discount is a cost at each service station of about 40,000 euros per monthan amount that the Government advance will not fully compensate.

This was explained to Efe by spokespersons for the Spanish Confederation of Service Station Entrepreneurs (Ceees) and the Spanish Group of Retailers of Fuel and Fuel Retailers (Aevecar), who agreed that the influx of customers has been normalizing after the “avalanche” recorded especially on Friday and Saturday.

For its part, the employer that represents the “low cost” gas stations has threatened to appeal this discount to the courts, as in his opinion the Executive has a “patrimonial responsibility” in the damage caused to the sector.

However, two of the companies that make up the association, Ballenoil and Plenoil, have publicly shown their support for the Executive’s measures, considering that they contribute to making “the acquisition of a property as basic as gasoline ».
