8000 kilometers on a paddle in the Pacific: the crazy challenge of six adventurers, wounded by life

by time news

“Optimists”, they are all six. It is even the precise term that they have chosen to name the adventure that they are about to carry out at the beginning of the year. These experienced rowers will start this Wednesday evening January 4 (8 p.m. French time) in the “Cap Optimist” project, the connection between Lima, the capital of Peru, and Moorea in French Polynesia, i.e. nearly 8,000 km in relay on a paddle, in total autonomy, with the one and only force of the arms, for a duration of approximately three months. An insane challenge for a good cause, these sea rescue specialists having in common that they each had a painful experience, the source of their motivation.
