I announced The Traffic and Licensing Affairs Department, at the Ministry of Interior in charge of the Government of National Unity, its monthly report on traffic accidents recorded during the month of July 2024.

The Traffic and Licensing Affairs Department revealed “an increase in the number of accidents and injuries, which raises the need to enhance traffic safety measures,” noting that “the numbers are worrying and there are calls to enhance safety.”

According to The report“816 traffic accidents were recorded during the month, resulting in 202 deaths, reflecting the seriousness of the current traffic situation. The report also included 331 serious injuries and 283 minor injuries, showing the extent of the damage caused to citizens as a result of these accidents.”

According to the report, “In addition, 1,292 vehicles sustained material damage, costing 7,162,550 dinars, indicating the huge economic burden caused by traffic accidents.”

The Ministry of Interior called on “drivers of motor vehicles to abide by the traffic law to ensure safety on the roads, respect traffic signals and signs, control the steering wheel well, adhere to the specified speeds, and avoid using mobile phones while driving,” noting that “these measures aim to reduce traffic accidents and preserve the lives of citizens.”
