83 crore paid to Football Federation in five years – NEWS 360 – SPORTS

New Delhi: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur informed Antony in the Lok Sabha that the Union Government has given Rs 83.58 crore to the All India Football Federation from 2018-19 to 2022-23 for the development of football. Aids like training, nutrition, sports equipment, accommodation, travel, service of foreign coaches etc. are also provided to the players.

Financial assistance is provided for overseas training and participation in international competitions at home and abroad. FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup sanctioned an additional Rs 10 crore.

The minister informed that there are 13 Khelo India accredited academies and 111 Khelo India centers for football in the country.
