Moia, Spain. (Veracruz Vanguard).- Four deaths resulted in an accident between two ultralights in a wooded area this Sunday, near the runway of the Moiá aerodrome, in Barcelona.
The moment of impact, according to the accounts of witnesses who called the emergency services, was before eleven in the morning, and a rescue helicopter from the Special Actions Group (GRAE) traveled to the place, in addition to four fire units.
It was in an area close to Fábrega where they located the aircraft, which had caught fire and the fire spread to the surrounding vegetation.
Once the flames were extinguished, the emergency teams located two bodies inside the ultralight.
Later they received another call to have located a second aircraft, apparently involved in the incident, so firefighters quickly arrived at the point.
There were also two deaths inside the aircraft, which crashed some 300 meters away from where they located the first ultralight, but it had been hidden by the terrain, as indicated by the emergency department.
They are agents of the Air Safety Technical Unit (UTSA) of the Mossos d’Esquadra who, under the orders of the duty court, investigate the causes of the accident, in coordination with the Civil Aviation Accident and Incident Investigation Commission (Ciaiac).
