881 new cases and 17 deaths- Corriere.it

by time news

I’m 881 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday they were +1.1.97, here the bulletin). Thus rises to at least 4.252.976 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 17 (yesterday there were 28), for a total of 127,270 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.037.996 e 2.304 those released today from the Covid nightmare (4,087 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 87.710, equal to -1.440* compared to yesterday (-2.922 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 150.522, or 99,466 less than yesterday when there were 249,988. While the rate of positivity is 0,6% (the approximation of 0.58%); yesterday it was 0.5%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.

Less infections in 24 hours than yesterday, below the threshold of one thousand for the second time this month (see +907 cases of Monday 14 June): this is the lowest number of cases of the year, such as those of last summer (see August 2020). The oscillating curve drops – it always happens on the weekend due to fewer swabs -, and then touches its minimum point on Monday (when the analyzes processed on Sunday are communicated, the lowest number of tests of the week). It also flattens out on low data, as the graph shows. A good comparison with last Sunday (13 June) – the same day of the week – when +1,390 cases were recorded with a positive rate of 1%: in fact today there are fewer new infections than 13 June with a lower percentage.

The curve of the new positives on the Civil Protection website

The Lombardy has the highest number of new infected: here the cases are +145 thanks to over 28 thousand swabs – the highest number of regional tests of the day – with a rate of 0.5% which is lower than the national one (here the bulletin) . Only one region is above 100 and that is Sicily (+135 with a 2.3% rate).

The victims

Victims are decreasing: they are 17 against 28 yesterday. This also number of deaths is the lowest in 2021, after the 26 deaths recorded on Sunday 13 June. To see a similar figure, you have to go back to early October 2020. We remind you that on weekends the data on deaths may be incomplete due to the fact that some structures do not provide updates on holidays. Still, it seems like a good sign. There are ten regions with zero bereavement, to which the Provinces of Trento and Bolzano are added, while the highest number of deaths is in Tuscany (5) and Campania (3, of which one died in the last 48 hours and two previously). Below the details of all the regions.

The health system

The decline in hospitalizations continues, both in critical and non-critical areas. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -60 (yesterday -176), for a total of 2,444 hospitalized. I beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) I’m -5 – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered IT – (yesterday -22), bringing the total of more seriously ill a 389, with 12 new entries in resuscitation (yesterday +10).
