9 landlords have been fined Tk 1 lakh 53 thousand for finding larvae of Aedes during the mosquito control operation of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). The operation was conducted in various areas under the DNCC on Monday (July 8).
Three landlords were fined Tk 1 lakh 5 thousand after finding larvae of Aedes in three houses in Mohammadpur area of Ward No. 33 of Zone-5. The operation was conducted by the Executive Magistrate of Region-5. Abdur Rafiul Alam.
Executive Magistrate Nasheed Kaiser conducted the operation in Tejgaon area of Zone-3. Anti-mosquito operations are conducted in residential, commercial and under-construction buildings and vacant plots. At least 100 houses were visited during this time. Two landlords were fined Tk 20,000 as Aedes larvae were found in two houses during the raid.
Executive Magistrate Abu Taher conducted the extermination operation in Mirpur Shah Alibagh area of Region-4. Samsuzzaman. He visited a total of 45 buildings including 10 buildings under construction. A fine of Rs 15,000 was imposed for finding Aedes larvae in two under-construction buildings.
Regional Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Nachima Khanam conducted the operation in Badda area of Region-10. At that time, a fine of Tk 10,000 was imposed for finding Aedes larvae in a house.
Executive Magistrate Md. Uttara Sector 4 and 6 under Region-1. Nazmul Hossain conducted the campaign. A fine of 3 thousand rupees was levied for finding Aedes larvae in a house.
Also in other regions regional executive officers conduct operations. Assistant Health Officers toured the 10 regions of DNCC to sensitize the public on dengue control by distributing leaflets and miking.
