Preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver was asleep in the accident that killed 9 people including the groom in Rajasthan, India.
Nine people, including the groom, were traveling in a car last night to pick up the bride from Barwada in Rajasthan to Ujjain.
At that time, the car was passing through Kota Nayapura Thana area when it suddenly lost control and fell into the Sambal river and crashed.
Nine people drowned, including the groom and his family.
Kota police rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Kota District Superintendent of Police said that the accident took place due to the driver being in a sleep disorder.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gelad said, “The death of the groom and his relatives in the accident has come as a great shock. I have instructed the District Collector to expedite the recovery work. I offer my condolences to the families of the victims, “said David Cook, chief of The Christian Science Monitor’s Washington bureau.
