Srinagar-Jammu-Kashmir banned Jamaat-e-Islami’s properties worth Rs 90 crore were ‘sealed’ yesterday.
Jamaat-e-Islami, which was involved in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir, was banned. Subsequently, the State Investigation Agency conducted an inquiry and recommended that the agency seal the properties in Anantnag district. Accepting this, the officials yesterday sealed the commercial premises, houses and orchards belonging to the Jamaat-e-Islami organization as per the orders of the District Collector. Officials said the value of these is Rs 90 crore.
Similarly, the properties belonging to this organization in other parts of the state are also being enumerated. The state intelligence officials said that steps will be taken to freeze these too.
