With around 12 thousand people, including locals and national and foreign tourists, at the Cerro del Fortín auditorium, the 2024 edition of Guelaguetza began, the largest festival in Oaxaca, considered the largest meeting between indigenous countries of Latin America.

“Indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples meet again in this great cultural meeting that represents the heritage, brotherhood and union of all of them,” Chancellor Alicia Bárcena said.
