The Lymphoma Club of Thailand recently organized the 9th seminar titled “Miracle turns cancer into happiness: Miracle is all around – Raise Awareness of Lymphoma” to commemorate World Lymphoma Day, which falls on September 15 every year. The event took place at the Eden Zone in Central World Shopping Center and attracted a significant number of patients and interested individuals.

During the seminar, patients had the opportunity to consult with hematologists on the topic of “Innovations for Lymphoma Treatment.” It was revealed that lymphoma, although being a fairly common type of cancer, has a higher chance of being completely cured compared to other types. Targeted drugs and new forms of treatment methods have emerged, leading to better treatment results. Patients who attended the seminar shared their experiences of fighting lymphoma and finding hope until they were cured.

Professor Dr. Thanin Intharakamthornchai, the President of the Lymphoma Club of Thailand and a faculty member at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, emphasized the importance of instilling morale and encouragement in patients. He highlighted the high chances of success in overcoming lymphoma and encouraged patients to have the courage to fight the disease.

Dr. Natharada Kachanan, a former patient with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, and Ms. Tatiyaporn Kongkatip and Ms. Patcharawan Hutaseranee, former patients with Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma, shared their personal journeys of battling lymphoma and finding solace in support groups. They stressed the significance of sharing experiences and spreading positivity among cancer patients.

Lymphoma treatment guidelines now recommend using chemotherapy in combination with targeted therapy for newly diagnosed patients. Targeted drugs, more specific to each type of lymphoma, deliver better treatment outcomes compared to standard approaches. Additionally, stem cell transplantation and immunotherapy are utilized for relapsed cases. Research on lymphoma treatment is continuously conducted in Thailand, resulting in significant improvements in patients’ quality of life.

The event also featured various activities aimed at raising awareness of lymphoma, such as lectures by hematologists on innovative treatment approaches, Q&A sessions with expert doctors, and an opportunity for patients to share their own experiences. The Lymphoma Patients Club of Thailand (TLPG) organized additional activities to empower and inspire attendees.

To further support the cause, Kao Dechapattanakun, a popular public figure, participated in the event and offered a Fansign activity. Additionally, a limited edition MIRACLE Bucket hat, designed by Dechapattanakun, was available for purchase, with all proceeds going to the Lymphoma Club of Thailand.

The seminar successfully created awareness about lymphoma and provided a platform for patients to share their stories of hope and resilience. The event emphasized the importance of early detection, advancements in treatment options, and the need for support communities to uplift spirits and create a sense of togetherness.
