Thiruvananthapuram : The accused in the case of murder of female partner in Perurkada Vajayila was found hanged in jail. The incident took place in Poojapura District Jail on Sunday morning. According to the jail authorities, the accused Rajesh, who is on remand, committed suicide in the washroom of the jail. He hanged himself with the rope he was wearing. The body is in the General Hospital Mortuary.
Last Thursday morning, Rajesh killed his partner Sindhu near Vajayila Junction. Both were previously married. Sindhu was left by her husband. Rajesh was separated from his wife.
Childhood friends Sindhu and Rajesh later became close. For 12 years, they were living together in Nandi Vyatati on rent. The two were separated from each other for a month. This and a property dispute led to the murder.
Rajesh was running a juice shop near Kilimanoor police station. Both lived on Sindhu’s household income. After losing his job, he was in dire financial straits. When Rajesh used to beat Sindhu demanding money, the relatives took Sindhu to her sister’s house. Sindhu was staying here for one and a half months.
Sindhu arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday morning after getting a new job at a home nursing facility in Vajayila. Seeing Sindhu leaving by bus, Rajesh followed on a two-wheeler. When he reached Nedumangat, he boarded the same bus and got off at Vajaila along with Sindhu. The police case is that he killed Rajesh Sindhu who came after him.
Rajesh’s mother was an employee of Palode Veterinary Biology Institute. Rajesh’s family lived in quarters near Sindhu’s house in Pandyanpara.
