Buses collide head-on due to fog in Pakistan: 8 killed

The Indus Highway in Rajanpur district of Pakistan’s Punjab province was shrouded in heavy fog. Due to this, it is not even possible to predict the coming vehicles on the road.

In this situation, the bus coming from the opposite direction collided with each other and got into an accident. 8 people died in this accident. 23 people were injured.

One bus was going from Peshawar to Karachi and another was going to Rajanpur. Many women and children were injured in the accident and were rushed to the nearest hospital. Many of them are said to be in critical condition.

Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has ordered the hospital administration to provide best medical treatment to the injured. Some parts of Punjab and Sindh provinces are currently affected by heavy fog due to heavy fog.

A spokesman for the highways said traffic has been blocked in some parts of the Indus Highway due to dense fog and traffic has been diverted to other highways. The country has also advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel at night and early morning.
