Nubia’s Z50 comes with SD 8 Gen 2 for less than $500 at the base

ZTE’s Nubia brand company has announced a new flagship phone called the Z50, meanwhile for the Chinese market. It’s a fairly comprehensive upgrade over the Z40S series that preceded it, with a new design and specs that align with most of the top models.

It includes Qualcomm’s most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with up to 16 gigabytes of working memory and up to 1 terabyte of UFS 4.0 memory for file storage, with a large evaporation chamber on the back to maintain a stable temperature. The display is AMOLED type, size 6.67 inches, FHD+ resolution and a respectable refresh rate of 144 Hz.

The rear camera setup includes a main camera with a 64-megapixel sensor based on an adapted Sony IMX787 with f/1.6 key and optical image stabilization. The second camera is a wide-angle camera with a 50-megapixel Samsung sensor and a 116-degree field of view. There is also a ring LED and a multi-channel spectral analysis sensor. The front camera is 16 megapixels.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, and supports a charging power of up to 80 watts in a wired connection. The operating system is Android 13, with the MyOS 13 interface. More in the specifications: a pair of speakers, dual physical SIM support, and a case covered with artificial leather.

As for the prices, these start at about 430 dollars for the basic model with 8 gigabytes of memory and 128 gigabytes of storage, and reach up to 859 dollars for 16 gigabytes of memory and a terabyte of file storage. The sale in China will start on December 23.
