Expensive: Car overturns in construction trench, killing two

by time news

A dramatic accident occurred in Bourges (Cher) on Sunday evening. According to France Bleu Berry, a car fell into a construction trench on Pierre Bérégovoy Avenue, a busy artery in the city. It was around 10 p.m. Is it the speed? A loss of control? The car, after hitting the studs that protected the site, sank into the excavation. Three people were in the vehicle and two died. According to Berry Republican, it is the driver and front passenger, aged around 30. The third, injured, does not arouse the concern of the doctors.

The rescue operation was very complicated, despite the intervention of around twenty firefighters, several of whom specialized in extrication operations. In particular, they had to stabilize the car, to prevent it from tilting further.

A police investigation is opened to find out the exact causes of the accident. One certainty: the avenue was still lit. Bourges cuts its public lighting from midnight to 5 a.m. but only in residential areas and not on major axes such as Avenue Bérégovoy. The car was to be removed from the scene of the accident on Monday.
