11 years ago it was announced that the largest hotel in Israel would be built in the Sharona complex in Tel Aviv. In recent months, no construction work has been carried out in the area after the construction company Electra Construction dismantled the two cranes in the area and removed the signage indicating that it is the executing contractor.

In September 2011, the Netsaba company won the tender to build the hotel for NIS 50 million and since then the process has not gone smoothly. The excavation permit for the hotel was only received in September 2014. The Dania Sibus company performed the excavation work and then Electra Construction entered the construction phase.

During the project, the company abandoned the site for a year during which the construction did not progress, and even when it returned a second time, it abandoned the project a few months ago apparently due to a disagreement between Netsaba and Electra Construction regarding the quality of the construction, safety deficiencies, and more.

The hotel, which is supposed to be the largest in Israel, will include 800 rooms at a height of 45 apartments and will cover an area of 40,000 square meters. Due to its size, it seemed that it would actually be divided into three different hotels, which would have three different franchisees.

About two years ago, “Calcalist” revealed that due to the unusual delay in the schedules, she paid the Israel Land Authority a sum of about NIS 14 million. Barmi even threatened to cancel the contract with the company and return the land.
