He showed it in 2022 in Top Gun Maverick by piloting fighter planes himself, he has shown it in all the Mission Impossible films since the beginning of the saga and he intends to take on a new challenge in Mission Impossible 7 , whose title is none other than Dead Reckoning Part 1. And for this seventh film of the license where Cruise plays agent Ethan Hunt, the actor embarked on a new challenge where he did not have the right to error: jumping from the top of a Norwegian cliff to end up in a dangerous parachute jump. During a making-of video, director Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise explain how they did it. Between the relentless training but also the millimeter calculations of the actor’s trajectories to be able to film the sequence in the most immersive way possible, this sequence was a headache to shoot. Previously, Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 revealed a trailer in May 2022. It featured Ethan Hunt in a high-risk mission. We learned little about the film itself, but these first images are an opportunity to discover new insane stunts to which the franchise has accustomed us in seven films. It was also an opportunity to discover that the feature film is titled “Dead Reckoning” (which could be translated as “deadly judgment”) but above all that this new plot will be divided into two parts. The film is slated for release on the 12th July 2023 in France. Originally, the film carried by Tom Cruise was to arrive on cinema screens in 2022, but the date was finally postponed by a year.
