A powerful earthquake struck near Eureka in Humboldt County, California, USA. It was recorded as 6.4 on the Richter scale, according to the US Geological Survey.
The epicenter was at a depth of 16.1 km. The quake struck about 7.4 miles west-southwest of Berndale. As a result, thousands of homes have been cut off.
The windows of the houses were shattered by the earthquake. Items in the house were thrown away. Photos related to this went viral on social media.
