by time news

For the second time in the current Hanukkah holiday, a tragic case occurred today (Wednesday) when a man choked to death while eating a doughnut. This time it is a 67-year-old man, a resident of Bnei Brak. MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene provided medical treatment and performed CPR, eventually resulting in his death.

Hanukkah tragedy: The death of the 70-year-old man who suffocated while eating a donut was pronounced dead

MDA emergency medic Yoel Schechter said: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw the man lying unconscious while CPR was being performed on him. We saw a piece of donut near him and told us he choked while eating it. We continued the medical treatment and performed advanced and prolonged resuscitation operations during which we removed pieces of donut dough from his throat with the help of medical equipment. Unfortunately, in the end we had to determine his death.”

As I recall, yesterday two men choked while eating a doughnut. In Netanya, a 70-year-old man died and in Ofakim, a 61-year-old man was evacuated in serious condition while being sedated and ventilated.
