Stock market falls again: Sensex plunges 635 points | Sensex ends with 635 points fall

Mumbai: Indian stocks closed lower again on Wednesday. The Sensex was down 635 points (1.03 per cent) at 61,067. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty was down 186 points (1.01 per cent) at 18,199.

Wednesday morning trade opened with a 250-point gain. As of 09:37 am, the Sensex was up 129.63 points at 61,831.92. The Nifty was up 79.25 points at 18,464.55 on the national bourse.

Factors such as the increasing spread of Corona in countries like China and Japan, the precautionary measures taken by the Indian government, and the fear of recession in the United States have greatly affected the Indian stock markets. As a result, the trade which started with a bullish trend in the morning started moving towards a steady decline. It fell sharply to 1,050 points during trading hours and then recovered to close with a decline of 635 points.

By the end of today’s trading hours, the Sensex was down 635.05 points at 61,067.24. At the same time, Nifty fell by 186.20 points to close at 18,199.10.

In terms of individual stocks, Nestlé India and Wipro were the gainers. Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints, M&M, L&T, Reliance Industries, Tata Steel, ITC, HDFC, Tata Motors were among the decliners.
