Clash of Chinese Soldiers: A proper debate should be held in the Parliament, opposition parties are protesting

Opposition MPs, including the Congress, staged a protest at the Parliament premises demanding a discussion on the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers along the Arunachal Pradesh state border.

In Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang, a recent clash broke out between Indian and Chinese soldiers over the border. Opposition parties including the Congress have been insisting that the matter should be discussed in the Parliament. In this situation, a meeting of the Congress ruling council was held in Delhi this morning.

Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge and senior party leader Sonia Gandhi were also present. Speaking at the meeting, Sonia Gandhi said that the central government is adamant that India-China soldiers should not discuss the conflict and people do not know the real situation.

Following this, the opposition MPs gathered in front of the Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises and started a demonstration. They questioned why the central government is keeping silent regarding the clash between India and China soldiers and raised slogans that a proper discussion should be held in the parliament.

Speaking to the media, Congress MP Sasidharoor requested the central government to give a proper explanation about the border situation. DMK MP Tamilachi Thangapandian insisted that opposition parties should be allowed to discuss the issue. Later, when the Lok Sabha convened, opposition MPs including Congress and DMK joined forces to insist on the same demand. This caused shouting and confusion in them.
