Lexus Israel will begin marketing the fifth generation of the Lexus RX, the large luxury SUV of the Japanese luxury car brand, which created a revolution in the luxury recreational vehicle market when it first appeared 25 years ago.
The new model is a leap forward with dynamic performance, a spectacular design, a driver’s environment that enables an intuitive and clean experience through a new generation multimedia system. The RX is launched with no less than 3 electrified drive systems only, in accordance with Lexus’ vision for a greener and cleaner future: the first RX450+- with a plug-in hybrid drive system.
The second RX 500h – a performance version with a hybrid drive system with a turbocharger, the first of its kind paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and an innovative all-wheel torque control system called DIRECT4.

Lexus Israel is proud to present the new RX. The new model of Lexus’ large luxury SUV, which is the fifth generation of the model that revolutionized the global luxury recreational vehicle market.
In line with the vision that Lexus has set for a greener and cleaner future, the new RX presents a wider range of electric drive systems. At the same time, the new model also includes an improvement in dynamic performance, a spectacular Lexus design, a spacious and open passenger cabin, a designed driver’s environment, an advanced multimedia system and the Lexus Driving Signature, which gives the driver confidence, comfort, control and a constant feeling of connection to the vehicle.
For Lexus, the new RX is a reinvention of the model, which was first released in 1998 and created a new market segment of luxury recreational vehicles and is currently a global core model of Lexus with 3.5 million deliveries. The new model maintains the heritage of the RX, a new design and breakthrough technology designed to expand the capabilities and attractiveness of the vehicle to a larger customer base.

The new RX will be offered in Israel, similar to Europe, with three drive systems, allowing each customer to choose the electrified drive system that suits their needs.
The RX 450h+, the first RX model to adopt Lexus plug-in hybrid technology.
The RX 350h hybrid vehicle is positioned as an efficient alternative for those interested in switching from diesel and gasoline drive systems.

In addition, Lexus presents its first hybrid vehicle in a performance version with a turbocharger. The RX 500h, which comes with DIRECT4 driving force control – a new and exclusive Lexus driving force technology, an intelligent all-wheel drive system. The system conveys a better feeling between the road and the steering wheel and provides improved stability and driving dynamics at high speed.
The driver’s space is based on the Lexus Tazuna concept, in which the design and layout of the control and information displays are precisely calculated for quick and easy operation, in accordance with the “hands on the wheel, eyes on the road” principle. It also enhances the driving experience, with an intuitive and clean layout, enhanced by the new Lexus Link Multimedia system and the “Hey Lexus” voice assistant activated via the Lexus Link smartphone app. The multimedia system includes a 14-inch touch screen as standard with buttons for accessing the most common functions. The graphics are displayed in HD with excellent visibility in all lighting conditions and the central processing unit in the system works 3.6 times faster than its predecessor.

In order to create the new driving seal of Lexus – ‘Lexus Driving Signature’ – Lexus has improved the basic features of the recreational vehicle in the new RX, such as center of gravity, inertia specifications, weight reduction, rigidity and drive system to create a more natural dialogue between the vehicle and the driver. The improved road behavior and speed of response are based on the development of the Lexus GA-K platform which provides excellent body rigidity and a low center of gravity.
The interior of the RX exudes refined, unsophisticated luxury. The approach of “less is more” removes unnecessary items from the space in favor of a current look with a clean and tidy surface. This design change gives an immediate feeling of space, well-being, refinement and comfort. The cabin retains elements of luxury handcrafted by the Takumi experts and stimulates all the senses. The feel and sound of the opening and closing were also carefully considered.

The new design simplicity can be seen in the way the dashboard integrates seamlessly and cleanly as part of the dash cover, dashboard and door trim. Thanks to equipping the vehicle with a new smart electronic door opening system (e-latch), it will be possible to lower the interior handles and sculpt the upper part of the door panels, as a natural extension of the dashboard. Hospitality “Omotenshi” According to the concept that guides Lexus in all its activities, it is the basic principle that defines how the RX takes care of the well-being of the passengers in the car, provides an inviting feeling and makes them feel safe and comfortable all the time.
This principle is already reflected in the reception of inviting lighting when approaching the vehicle and animated graphics that appear on the multimedia and information screens when preparing to set off. As soon as the vehicle recognizes the driver’s key, the driver’s name can be added to the welcome sequence.
The RX includes Lexus’ advanced safety technologies as standard, and therefore it benefits from the third generation of the Lexus Safety System+ package, an improved pre-collision system, a new system of proactive driving assistance and an option for an extended safety package. It is also available with the Safe Exit Assist system linked to an electronic door opening system. This system prevents the doors from opening when vehicles or cyclists approach from behind. The new system was recently awarded a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP test.

The Next Chapter design of the new RX gives it a unique identity with proportions that derive from its dynamic driving experience. The vehicle exudes a powerful road presence and performance, with a bold look and a presence firmly planted on the ground. An immediate and strong feeling of “new” gives the car a visual effect that is consistent with the quality of its three new electric drive systems. The Next Chapter design took the hourglass shape from the familiar Lexus front grill and created a new hourglass body effect that was incorporated into the entire front of the vehicle. The grill itself has been reinterpreted as a single unit that merges with the chassis along its entire length to its ends. The new narrow lighting units and the 15 mm wider front wheel arch add emphasis to the vehicle’s low center of gravity and stable appearance on the ground.
In addition, the hood has been lengthened, the A-beam has been moved back, and the wheelbase has been extended by 60 mm. Sculpted surfaces on the door panels, flared rear wings and 21-inch wheels add a sense of road holding and powerful dynamism.
Lexus used new materials in the vehicle’s structure to reduce weight without compromising structural integrity or performance. Thicknesses of the side parts and door bodies were reduced, and in certain components such as the central beam, steel with high tensile strength and hot stamping was used. Additional weight savings were achieved by replacing the steel in the front wings with aluminum – a step that helped improve the weight distribution between the front/rear of the vehicle. Every detail is important: the material from which the cover of the fuel tank and the charging socket of the + RX 450h are made has changed from steel to resin.
