Again public flogging in Afghanistan, women protest against university ban – Afghanistan

Kabul – In Afghanistan, the Islamist Taliban have again publicly flogged several convicted people. In the southern province of Helmand, eleven men and one woman received between ten and 39 lashes on Wednesday, a local Taliban representative confirmed to the German Press Agency. Accordingly, the twelve people were convicted, among other things, of theft and “moral” offenses according to Islamic legal opinion in Afghanistan.
