The first IMAX in Kerala is getting a good response on the first day

Kerala’s first IMAX theater has started operations in Thiruvananthapuram after a long wait for movie lovers. IMAX screening has started at PVR Superplex in Lulu Mall. The opening film is the Hollywood film Avatar the Way of Water. The makers had initially announced that the IMAX in Thiruvananthapuram would be inaugurated on the day of Avatar’s release on December 16, but that did not happen.
Meanwhile, Kerala’s first IMAX is getting a good response on its release day. Even though it has been a few days since the release of Avatar, movie buffs have been flocking to watch the film in IMAX. Most of the shows till Sunday are getting massive bookings on online booking sites. The ticket prices are 1230, 930 and 830.
For years there was a rumor on social media that Kerala’s first IMAX would be coming to Thiruvananthapuram’s Lulu Mall. IMAX Asia’s Vice President of Theater Sales Pritam Daniel confirmed this on Twitter in October, putting an end to the speculation. Pritam visited Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in connection with the start of IMAX screens in Kerala. He informed then that the IMAX in Thiruvananthapuram Lulu Mall is just the beginning of the activities in Kerala. The team is also looking into the possibilities of IMAX in Kochi. As part of this, they visited Cinepolis in Center Square Mall and PVR in Lulu Mall. Kochi is also considered to be a suitable city for IMAX theater.

Meanwhile, Avatar the Way of Water is the eagerly awaited film by the moviegoers of the world. Avatar is currently the biggest financial success in the history of world cinema. The film, which was released in December 2009, moved to second place in 2019 with the release of Avengers Endgame. But before the release of Avatar 2, Avatar Re was released worldwide. The re-release in China was in March 2021. The Chinese release earned the film the best collection. After this, Avatar again topped the list of biggest hits of all time.
