At this point, the deceased noticed what was happening, came to the scene and asked Mizrahi “What happened? What happened?”. The deceased stood between Yelena and Mizrahi, returned and asked him: “What do you want?” and asked him to continue driving.

In response, Mizrahi pulled out a sharp object from among his clothes and stabbed the deceased in the heart with the intention of killing him. Immediately after, Mizrahi fled the scene riding his motorcycle at high speed. Following the incident, the deceased took several steps, collapsed due to immobility and was rushed to the hospital with resuscitation efforts. About an hour later, the deceased was pronounced dead as a result of shock following a stab wound to the heart. Shortly after Mizrahi left the scene, he worked to destroy the evidence. “The respondent’s dangerousness is also learned from the fact that he used to hide a sharp object between his clothes, and from his saying to his acquaintance that he was ‘dying to stab someone’, something that also teaches about the respondent’s state of mind.” In addition, it was stated in the arrest request that “the respondent murdered the deceased in the middle of a busy and crowded intersection, casually, without any real reason, and without the deceased having done anything to him, in a manner that expresses severe and serious alienation on the part of the respondent from the value of the sanctity of human life.” The accused was charged with the crimes of murder, according to section 300(a), threats, conspiracy to commit a crime (obstructing legal proceedings), destroying evidence and obstructing legal proceedings.

Attorney Eyal Basraglik, who represents the Volkov family, said: “One part of the process has been completed – the filing of a serious indictment by the prosecution against Adi Mizrahi, but we will not pay, we will not settle for less than a conviction for murder under aggravated circumstances with intent which will lead to life imprisonment without parole for the cruel murderer who murdered the head of the family, Yuri, left children, including a 13-year-old girl, in complete shock and destruction, for no wrong done to them.”
