Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door variant is reportedly ready for production in India. The much-anticipated SUV was spotted during a TV shoot in North India, informed sources said.
Maruti plans to showcase its 5-door Jimny especially at the Auto Expo. This is expected to be followed by a sales launch.
The Jimny is expected to be a global model that will debut in India at the Auto Expo to be held in the capital Delhi in January next year.
Maruti Suzuki to launch Jimny with K15C Dualjet engine This new engine delivers 103hp of power and 137nm of torque. A choice of 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes can be offered. There is also a 4 wheel drive option.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny will compete with Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha in the Indian market. However both Thar and Gurkha are available only in 3-door form. It has been revealed that the Jimny will be launched in India at a price of Rs 10 lakh.
The 5-door Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine churning out 103 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. Notably, this engine is already in use in cars like Ertiga, XL6 and Brezza.
