Hundred-year-old oak trees felled in Grosrouvre: the three men have six months to reforest the destroyed plots

by time news

The sentence has fallen. The three individuals who were the subject of a procedure for illegal deforestation have just been condemned this Wednesday by the judicial court of Versailles. They had disfigured the Grosrouvre wood in the course of 2021, by cutting 96 century-old oaks. The main protagonist must pay a fine of 7,000 euros to the State, and pay with his two accomplices damages to the civil parties: the municipality of Grosrouvre and the environmental defense associations Jade and Save the Yvelines. That is a total of 27,500 euros.
